Ilume Lattice · Magnetic Stretch
1.5" lattice-woven nylon. A380 alloy buckle, magnetic with a mechanical lock. Cut to fit once. Hold without sagging. No holes to find, no buckle to dig in.
Two-step fit: ① Pick the size bracket that covers your waist. ② Trim the lattice with scissors on day one to your exact length. Open the fit guide or pick the larger size — free both ways if it's wrong.
The leather belt you already own
By the time you've poured your second coffee, you've already adjusted your belt twice. After lunch you'll do it again. By dinner you've started wearing the buckle a notch off-center because the right hole doesn't exist.
Your leather belts crack at the keeper. The lining peels. Every year or two you replace another one — same shopping trip, same dressing room, same compromise.
The Ilume Lattice is built for the moment you stop noticing your belt entirely. Cut it to fit on day one. The magnetic buckle snaps shut without prongs. The lattice-woven nylon stretches half an inch when you sit down — and pulls back when you stand up. There is no hole-between-holes anymore.
"I always assumed the stiffer, the better. Steel core, triple ply nylon. The stretch on this belt proved everything I thought I knew was wrong."— a verified review of the same engineering platform, the category VOC corpus we benchmark against
Three things worth answering before you click add to cart
Yes. Caliper-measured on every batch before it leaves the warehouse. Most stretch belts ship at 1.1″–1.3″ when they advertise 1.5″ — we publish the measurement photo so you can see what you're getting. Fits standard belt loops on chinos, jeans, suit trousers.
No. The buckle is a magnet plus a mechanical hook-and-slot. The magnet seats it; the slot holds it. We tested it through a 4-point lateral bend (sit, squat, lift, twist) and a one-handed disengage. It opens when you pull it sideways. It does not open when you do anything else.
The buckle is anodized A380 aluminum, not steel — clears most TSA metal detectors. The magnet is rated to be safe past 12″ from a pacemaker and won't damage credit cards in a wallet. Disclosed in full because we'd rather you ask now than after.
Set it once
Slip the webbing through your belt loops, mark the length, cut once with scissors. The lattice weave is sealed at the cut. No fraying, no second guess.
Bring the two halves together. The magnet pulls them into place; the hook-and-slot locks them. To open, pull sideways. To close, just let go.
The lattice stretches when you sit, pulls back when you stand. No mid-day cinch. No "wait, where did I land between the holes." By Tuesday, you'll have forgotten you're wearing one.
What's underneath
A regular cross-pattern of high-tenacity nylon: vertically rigid, horizontally elastic. The same materials science Groove spent two years developing — sourced from the same supplier cluster, with two upgrades they don't make.
From the people who already stopped noticing
"The stretch on this belt proved everything I thought I knew was wrong."
"I'm 5'10", 215 lbs and the Large fits perfectly. First belt where I haven't had to choose between the hole that pinches and the hole that sags."
"Wore it to church on Sunday with chinos, to the office on Monday under a tucked oxford. Nobody noticed it — that's the compliment."
"Bought it for my husband. He's not a tactical-belt guy and the other brands looked like SWAT gear. This one looks like a normal belt — he didn't even know it was magnetic until day three."
"I was tired of leather belts cracking and trying to find the right hole. Cut it to length the day it arrived. Three months in, still seated where I set it."
"Wanted to like the Cream colorway and I did. One honest note: it does pick up a bit of denim dye against dark raw selvedge. Wipe-down handled it. Still preferred over my old leather."

The smaller print, in plain English
Pick the size that covers the higher end of your waist range and trim. The lattice cuts cleanly with kitchen scissors — the weave is sealed at the cut and won't fray. If we ship you the wrong size, send it back free both ways.
Same $64.95 from S to XXL. No surcharge. The webbing comes off a 150 cm bolt — cutting it shorter costs us the same as cutting it longer.
The buckle is anodized A380 aluminum — not steel — so it clears most TSA detectors. Two of us travel weekly. Neither of us has been pulled aside since switching.
The neodymium magnet inside the buckle is rated safe at distances greater than 12 inches from an implanted pacemaker. The belt sits well below that distance. Same for credit cards — the magnet's field is contained to the buckle and won't demagnetize cards in your wallet.
The Lattice in Ink reads as a slim leather belt under a suit. The buckle is low-profile — closer to a J.Crew dress belt than a tactical one. If you want a thinner profile for tuxedo settings, the Lattice Slim is in development for fall.
Honestly — no. The lattice is built for daily comfort, which means it stretches under load. If you're running 2 lbs of holster off your hip, you want a rigid duty belt, not this one. We're building a Lattice Field SKU for that customer; until then, point them somewhere else.
Pop the buckle off (it slides out — no tools). Machine wash cold with the rest of your dark loads. Air dry. The lattice holds shape through repeated washes; we tested it through 100 cycles in-house.
If the webbing fails or the buckle breaks during normal use, we replace it. No expiration, no return-shipping fee, no fine print. Email a photo, we ship a new one. That's the policy.
The offer, plainly
Three belts, cut to fit, lifetime-backed. The leather belts you replace every year — keep one as a backup, sell the rest, or hang them on the leather hanger we ship with every set of two or more.
