Same capacity. Same output. Same weight. Better on solar, recharge, cycle life, and expansion. And the Freezer Guarantee no one else offers.
"Wins on 5. Ties on 3. Loses on 1: surge wattage. And that only matters if you start your fridge and AC in the same 5 seconds. You're not."
Measured at real appliance draw. Real outages. Real hours.

HP3000 surges to 7,200 W. We surge to 4,500 W. Here's what that means, and when it doesn't.
AC surge: Beacon 3K = 4,500 W (5 sec). Jackery HP3000 = 7,200 W.
Published. Not hidden. Not minimized.
A 4,500 W surge handles every single-appliance startup cleanly:
The HP3000 surge only matters if two compressors start in the same five seconds. Most households never do that. If yours does, buy the HP3000. If not, choose the one with the Freezer Guarantee and modular expansion.
If a competitor doesn't publish cycle life, operating temp, or surge duration, ask why.
Two questions when the grid drops: will it switch fast enough, and will it last the outage. Yes to both.
"The grid drops. The Beacon switches in 8–20 milliseconds. Your modem doesn't reboot. Your NAS keeps writing. Your fridge compressor never knows."
Faster than most sensitive electronics can detect. You find out something happened from the blinking microwave clock the next morning.
Runtime per 3,072 Wh capacity at 85% inverter efficiency. Actual runtime varies with load profile and ambient temperature.
The #1 HP3000 review regret: "Should've gotten the 5000." With Beacon 3K, add packs as you need them. No buyer's remorse.
Each Expansion Pack adds 3,072 Wh. Same plug, same wiring, same warranty. No buyer's remorse.

Last year we lost about $1,000 of freezer food when Helene took the power out for two days. This year we ran the fridge and the wifi router on the Beacon for 31 hours before the grid came back. Still had 12% battery. Freezer Guarantee was never needed but it was the thing that got me to pull the trigger.
Grid went out at 1:47 am. I didnt know until my alarm clock was blinking in the morning. The fridge, the wifi, the bedside fan all kept running. Im 67, Ive used three other "backup batteries" over the years and this is the first one that actually did what it said.
Compared seven units on my workbench. Only Beacon 3K and Anker F3800 published cycle life. Only Beacon was expandable without buying a bigger base unit. The Whole-Home bundle gave me 9,216 Wh and a 300W solar panel for $4,799, which is less than one HomePower 3000 plus a solar kit bought separately.
Peace of mind abound!
Been full-timing for two years. Had a Jackery 1000, a Goal Zero Yeti, and an EcoFlow Delta. The Beacon is the first one I can plug a 600 W panel into and actually watch it take all 600 W. Also weighs 63 pounds so my back still works.
I run a fridge + microwave regularly and the 4,500 W surge has never tripped. I read the "Honest Gap" section before ordering which is more than I can say for most PDPs. That alone made me trust them. Minus a star because the optional app was slow on my Android for the first two weeks (fixed after a firmware update).
Ice storm took out our grid for a day and a half. We ran the fridge, two phones, the router, and a space heater in the bedroom (dont tell the wattage police). Wife slept through it. The Beacon never went above 35% battery the whole time. Solid gear.
Best purchase of 2026.
I've been comparing power stations for 8 months. Nobody else backs up their fridge runtime claim with actual money. Ilume puts $500 in writing behind it. That told me they actually tested the 28-hour number. Havent needed it yet. Hoping I wont.
Im an electrician. The inverter hums cleaner than the old ones. Ive plugged delicate test equipment into it without worry. Runs my miter saw, impact driver, and the crew's phone chargers on site every day. After three months daily use still shows 100% capacity.
Love it.
Works great when charging from the wall. Took me a while to figure out why it wouldnt charge from my 5000W portable generator when the Beacon was also powering my freezer. Turns out its a passthrough limitation and support walked me through it in about 15 min. Works fine now but the manual should say that clearer. 3 stars for the friction, not the unit.
Lost power from Milton for 3 days. Ran the fridge constantly, charged phones, ran the wifi for the kids. Topped off with the Signal Panel once the storm passed. Still had battery left when the grid came back. Paid for itself in one event.
I was scared of getting something I couldnt operate. Ilume made it simple. Labeled buttons. On/off for each section. The trolley made a huge difference for me since this unit is heavy. Plugged it in and tested it with my fridge the day it came. It just works.
Owned the Jackery 1000, then upgraded to an EcoFlow Delta Pro. Both had things I liked. The Beacon 3K solar input is a totally different league. 1,600W cap means my panel array actually matters. Also 2 hour recharge vs my old 4-hour EcoFlow. The app is optional which I love.
My husband thought $2500 was crazy. Francine took our grid down for 38 hours. When our neighbors were scrambling to find gas and running their old generators in the yard, we were inside with our fridge and a movie going. He said "ok you were right" which is a first.
Does what it says.
Ive been losing work days to outages since 2017. After Irma I missed three client deadlines in one week and almost lost a contract. The Beacon arrived, I plugged in the modem, the router, and my laptop, unplugged from the wall to simulate an outage, and the unit didnt blink. Thats when I cried a little.
Took it on a 3-day desert trip near Moab. Ran the 12V fridge, charged 2 laptops, ran the fairy lights every night. Signal Panel topped it off every afternoon. Didnt have to stress about capacity once.
Get the Trolley. Seriously, dont skip it. The unit itself is heavy and without wheels you'll regret moving it from the garage to the porch. With the trolley its easy. 4 stars because it really should come with wheels like the Anker does.
I bought it specifically for outage food safety. Power went out for 14 hours last storm. Plugged the fridge into the Beacon and the freezer never warmed up. Nothing in there spoiled. Thats the whole reason I bought it and it did the job.
Im a disabled veteran living out in the rural marshes. I read the manual once while it charged. Plugged in my stuff and it worked. No fumes, no noise, didnt wake up the dog. Ilume made it easy to understand.
Worth every penny.
Ordered the standalone unit in January. Added one expansion pack in March when I realized I wanted more runtime for multi-day outages. They stack together cleanly, same plug, same wiring. Now I have 6,144 Wh and I dont have to replace the base unit. This is how modular should work.
Arrived at 28% charge. Plugged it into the wall on fast-charge mode and it was at 100% before I finished unpacking the rest of my gear. Faster than my phone charges.
Unit came with a dent in the corner. Ilume sent a replacement which showed up 2 weeks later and works perfectly, but for $2500 I expected better packaging. The replacement was packed in a double-box which should have been standard for the first one. 2 stars for the original QC, the replacement would be 5.
Fantastic product. Highly recommend.
I sell at craft shows that dont have electricity on the vendor row. The Beacon runs my scroll saw, my display lights, and a small fan all day Saturday and Sunday without a top-up. My old generator was loud and stank up the booth. This is silent. Game changer.
Power went out at 11 pm. Neighbors fired up their gas generator and were out there for 20 minutes fighting the pull cord. We rolled the Beacon from the utility closet into the kitchen, plugged in the fridge and a couple lamps, went to bed. Woke up to grid power at 4am.
Price was close between Beacon and the Anker. What tipped it for me was the 5-year warranty including the battery pack itself. Anker has 5 years on some units and 3 on others. Ilume makes it simple, no fine print.
My old Jackery 1000 had a built-in work light and the Beacon doesnt. Not a dealbreaker but surprising at this price tier. I ended up buying the Ilume flashlight accessory which is fine. Would have preferred it integrated.
Homelab guy here. I have a Synology NAS and a couple of Raspberry Pis running on a UPS setup. The Beacon's 8ms switchover is fast enough that my hardware doesnt even notice a power blip. Ive tested it 4 times now. Consistent every time.
5 stars. No notes.
I tested it. Plugged in our full-size LG fridge and let it run on the Beacon until it shut off. 29 hours 14 minutes. They claim 28. I'll take that. Manual says your mileage varies with fridge efficiency and outside temp, which is honest.
Phoenix summer. Van got above 110°F inside. LiFePO4 chemistry means I dont have to worry about it like the old lithium-ion packs. Came home, plugged in a laptop, everything normal. Operating temp spec held up.
Ordered on a monday. Site said ships today. Actually shipped wednesday. Arrived a week later. Unit itself is perfect. Just wanted to flag the ship time, because the page really leans on "ships today".
My mom is 78 and lives alone in a hurricane zone. I got her the Beacon with the trolley bundle after last years Helene scare. Shes used it twice since then for short outages and called me both times to say "it worked." Peace of mind for me, peace of mind for her.
Traded our Honda portable gen for this. Boondocking in Utah for 10 days. Ran the RV fridge, the water pump, and the inverter for the TV every night. Topped off with the 200W panel in the afternoon. Quiet camping finally.
Works.
Ilume shipped me a DOA unit. Wouldnt power on. Their support team was apologetic and overnighted a replacement which works perfectly. Im rating what I actually received the first time, not what should have been. If you get a working unit youll probably love it. I just got unlucky.
Laid out 4 brochures on the kitchen table. Beacon won on solar input, recharge speed, cycle life, and weight. Lost on AC surge (they say so) and tied on capacity and output. Lost on 1 category. Won on 4. Guess what I bought.
Out of power for 5 days after the derecho. Whole-Home Resilience bundle. Ran both fridges, wifi, and 2 box fans for the kids bedroom. Panel topped off every afternoon that had sun. Freezer contents never dipped below 25°F. Not a single thing lost.
This thing is a BEAST!!!
Had a Honda EU2000i for 12 years. Reliable but loud, smelly, and gas is a pain to store. Beacon replaces it for my needs. I dont do 50A RV so I cant say every gas gen customer would switch. But for home backup and car camping, Beacon wins.
Fan only kicks on under heavy load and even then its quieter than our fridge is in the kitchen. Slept next to it the first night I brought it home just to be sure. Didnt hear a thing.
Good thing the app is optional because on my Pixel 8 it randomly disconnects and I have to kill and reopen. On iOS my wife says its fine. The unit itself runs great without the app so this is more a heads up than a complaint. Ilume should fix the Android side.
Game changer.
On my old Jackery the MPPT capped at 400W which meant my 600W array was always throttled. The Beacon takes all 600 and then some. Full recharge in about 4 hrs of Texas sun. This is what I wanted.
Ice storm took us off the grid for 22 hours. Kids kept watching their shows, I kept making food. They never knew anything had happened. Thats what this is supposed to do and thats what it did.
Spent 3 weekends reading reviews and watching youtube teardowns before ordering. Beacon was the one that stood up to actual spec scrutiny. Other brands hand-wave the cycle life number. Ilume publishes 3,500 cycles to 80% which is verifiable. Happy with the decision.
Unit works fine electrically. But the spec sticker on the left panel was already peeling when I unboxed. Also the Ilume logo badge has a visible seam on the chrome finish. Small things but at this price I expect better fit and finish. Contacted support, theyll send a replacement sticker which isnt really the point.
Weekend cabin that is 9 miles from the nearest grid connection. Beacon plus the 300W solar panel gives us 3+ days of fridge, lights, and charging without a recharge. Been up there 6 weekends so far, never run out. The kids finally want to come up with us.
Recommend.

Atlantic hurricane season starts in June. That's a NOAA date, not a marketing deadline. Order by June to have it charged, tested, and ready before the first advisory.
No. It runs essential circuits: fridge, CPAP, Wi-Fi, phones, lights, short microwave cycles. Whole-home HVAC and water heaters need a transfer-switched home battery, not a portable.
Same capacity, output, weight. We win on solar input (4×), recharge, cycle life (published at 3,500+ — HP3000 doesn't publish theirs), expansion, and the Freezer Guarantee ($500 food reimbursement Year 1 — no one else offers this). They win on surge wattage.
No. Every core function works on the unit itself. Designed to run without a phone, because your phone might be the thing that's dead when you need the power.
Yes. LFP chemistry, zero emissions, under 30 dB at idle. Works in the garage, basement, closet, or next to your bed. Gas generators can't say that.
2 years standard + 3 more when you register within 30 days. Covers the unit, the battery, and the inverter. We ship a replacement first; you send the old one back with our prepaid label.
For single-appliance startup, yes. Fridge inrush is about 1,800 W. Microwave is about 1,800 W. Window AC is about 2,500 W. The HP3000's 7,200 W only matters if two compressors fire up in the same 5 seconds.
Every bundle ships with the unit, AC / 12V / XT60 / MC4 cables, and the manual. Bundle accessories vary by tier. Order before June 1st and Standalone adds a free Trolley; Home Backup Complete and Whole-Home Resilience add a free 200W Panel.
30 days, no questions asked. We pay return freight. No restocking fee. Defective or changed your mind, we cover it either way.
Others guarantee the unit. We guarantee what the unit is for.
the Beacon 3K runs a full-size fridge for 28 hours on a single charge. We tested it. We're willing to put money behind it.
